Moving to Hall comes with many challenges - such as learning to feed yourself and do your own shopping. Here's the lowdown on the best options you have available to you in Hall.
-
How can I get some condoms? Here in Trinity Hall we LOVE safe sexual intercourse. condoms are available directly from your Welfare Officer (Emer Munnelly), and at the top of all apartment blocks in a little basket. All condoms are freely provided.
-
Can I get a pregnancy test?Yes, absolutely. If you need a pregnancy test you can get a free one from your Welfare Officer (Emer Munnelly). You can call up to his apartment or send him a message on Instagram (emer_munnelly12)

I’m just not having an amazing time, and don’t have anyone to talk to about it. What should I do?"Your welfare officer is trained in active listening and confidentiality and is willing and able to listen to anyone who is having a problem. Emer has weekly office hours or you can send him a message saying you’d like a chat. There is no problem too big or too small.

I’m going through some stuff, and I don’t feel comfortable going to the Welfare Officer. Is there anyone else I can talk to in halls?"Yes, of course! It’s completely understandable that you would like to talk to someone else. Luckily, every house in Hall is assigned a welfare team member, who are lovely, well trained second years who are here to support you (their official title is literally “Peer Supporter”). You can contact the welfare team member assigned to your house, or any one of them that you would feel comfortable with. There are also great facilities offered on campus by college staff.

How do I make a Doctor’s appointment? You can make a free GP appointment by ringing the College Health Services on + 353 1 896159. There are also free drop-in appointments available Monday to Friday, at 9:30am and 2pm. However, these are normally very busy, so I would advise being there and queueing at least 30 mins early. All doctors’ appointments take place in the college health services.

How do I get a Counselling appointment?Contact the TCD Counselling Services – 01 896 1497. Counselling in the college counselling services is free for all Trinity students. It is confidential and non-judgemental. You ring to make an appointment and they will need your student number when you call. They also operate drop-in appointments at 1pm and 1:30pm term time, in the counselling services on Nassau street, just beside the science end of campus. There are weekly counselling appointments available in Halls as well, just ask if any are available when making your appointment.
